The bible says that there is no righteous man that is without sin, (Ecclesiastes 4:7) and because of our sin we have fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23) and the price we pay is death. (Romans 6:23) All throughout the old testament in the bible, sin was forgiven by sacrifice through a covenant that God made with Abraham.. In Genesis 15 God made a covenant with Abram and Abram cut up animals and formed an isle with it, and as he was gonna walk through, symbolizing that if this covenant were to break, he would become as those animals, Abram fell asleep. (God’s mercy endures forever) And it was God that walked through. This was a perpetual covenant between Abraham and his seed after him, to give them the promised land, and to multiply his seed as the stars of heaven and to have inheritance in the kingdom of God after death. But time after time Israel broke this covenant and didn’t pursue faithfully, God had to keep his part and endured and became the man, we know as Jesus. The prophet, Jeremiah foretold of a new covenant, in which the kingdom of God will be given to the gentiles, or the people that were not Jewish. And God’s Word will be in our hearts, and God will remember our sins no more. (Jeremiah 31:31-34) But this covenant was established through sacrifice, and any sacrifice to God is unacceptable if it has spot or blemish. Jesus, being half man and half God, even God in the flesh, was able to walk this world and overcome all temptations without sinning one time! Yet he paid the price for sin and was badly tormented and beaten and sacrificed on a cross. He is the righteous servant Isaiah speaks of that will justify many. (Isaiah 53:1-12) three days later, after his death he was risen from the dead, and the new covenant from God was established. On the cross, he became as those animals in Genesis 15. Jesus was the only sacrifice that defeated death and because of this, and the fact that he is still alive today, and seated on the right hand of God, all we got to do to be saved is believe a and call on his name! (Romans 10:9)
If you believe this, you can make a confession of faith right now and be saved. Repeat this prayer and believe.
Jesus, come in my heart and make me new. Fill me with the Holy Spirit and teach me your ways. Forgive me, for I’m a sinner, in the authority of Jesus, Amen.
